Job role description:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for taking and analysing measurements and reviewing tender documentation. He/She will implement procurement strategies and review returned tender documents. He/She reviews cost estimates and cash flow forecasts to be able to communicate updates with relevant stakeholders. He/She manages the complete post contract administration processes. He/She leads project meetings with customers and supports dispute resolution matters when required. He/She builds relationships with customers and liaises with contractors, specialists and sub-contractors to help develop resource plans and monitor costs and profitability of construction work to deliver the customers’ and/or project objectives.
He/She is analytical and detail-oriented. He/She is a team player with excellent leadership skills. He/She can guide his team in solving problems. He/She is organised and able to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. He/She will usually be stationed in the office or project worksites to perform his/her duties.
Key Tasks - Prepare measurements and tender documentation
· Analyse Building Information Modelling (BIM) models to validate cost plans
· Edit contract bills
· Analyse schedule of rates
· Draft preliminaries and trade preambles
· Review technical specifications prepared by technical consultants
· Analyse measurements, admeasurements, and re-measurements
Key Tasks - Drive cost planning and control
· Review cost analyses
· Review outline and detailed approximate cost estimates
· Analyse cost plans and detailed budgeting
· Review cost-in-use studies and life-cycle costing of building and installation and/or components
· Review cash flow projections
· Review cost checking processes during design development
· Interface with relevant stakeholders to advise alternative designs or methods of construction
· Review periodic cost reports

· Carry out pre-qualifications
· Implement procurement strategies
· Review documentation to invite tenders from contractors, specialists or sub-contractors on a competitive or negotiated basis
· Evaluate tender returns

· Analyse claims on behalf of relevant parties
· Review valuations and recommendations for interim payments to contractors, specialists and sub-contractors
· Review and price assessment of variation cost claims
· Review final accounts
· Conduct contractual risk evaluations
· Lead project meetings
· Support the development of dispute resolution strategies
