Role Summary
The ACMV Manager will oversee the planning, design coordination, execution, and delivery of ACMV systems across assigned projects. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with statutory, safety, and quality standards, while leading a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Execution
- Plan, organize, and manage ACMV installation works from design coordination through to testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Prepare and monitor project schedules, manpower plans, and resource allocation to meet project milestones.
- Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, and other trades (electrical, fire protection, BMS) to ensure smooth interface and integration of ACMV systems.
- Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and as-built drawings.
- Ensure proper testing, commissioning, and handover of ACMV systems in accordance with project specifications and authority requirements (e.g., NEA, BCA, SCDF).
Technical & Quality Oversight
- Review ACMV system design, load calculations, and equipment selection for compliance with project specifications and relevant codes (SS 553, SS 554, etc.).
- Conduct site inspections to ensure workmanship meets quality standards and approved drawings.
- Troubleshoot technical issues on site and provide engineering solutions.
- Ensure compliance with energy efficiency and green building requirements (e.g., BCA Green Mark) where applicable.
Team Leadership
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of ACMV engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
- Assign duties, monitor performance, and support the professional development of team members.
- Foster a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to WSH (Workplace Safety and Health) regulations.
Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and procurement plans for ACMV works.
- Monitor project costs, variations, and claims to ensure profitability targets are met.
- Liaise with quantity surveyors and procurement teams on material and subcontractor tendering.
Stakeholder & Contract Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and authorities on ACMV-related matters.
- Manage subcontractors and vendors, including performance evaluation and contract compliance.
- Prepare progress reports, technical submissions, and documentation for management and clients.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all ACMV works comply with statutory requirements, including submissions to relevant authorities.
- Enforce safe work practices on site in line with company WSH policies and MOM regulations.
- Support ISO and quality management system audits as required.
Requirements
Education & Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or working towards it is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant ACMV/M&E experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
- Proven track record managing ACMV projects in Singapore, ideally within commercial, industrial, or institutional building sectors.
- Strong knowledge of local codes, standards, and authority submission requirements (NEA, BCA, SCDF, PUB).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC/ACMV systems, chiller plants, air handling units, ductwork, and BMS integration.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, project management software (e.g., MS Project), and MS Office.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
- Familiarity with contract forms (e.g., SIA, REDAS) and cost management practices.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Singapore as required.
- Valid Class 3 driving license preferred.
