Job Description
The Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a pivotal role in driving growth opportunities for the company within Singapore’s construction and built environment sector. This includes identifying new business leads, managing tenders, building long-term client relationships, and collaborating with project, engineering, and operations teams to secure and deliver projects successfully.
Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Strategy

Identify, evaluate, and secure new business opportunities in infrastructure, civil engineering, geotechnical, M&E (mechanical & electrical), and construction sectors.

Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve revenue and market expansion goals.

Conduct market analysis and competitor benchmarking to identify industry trends and emerging opportunities.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, contractors, consultants, and government agencies (e.g., BCA, LTA, HDB).

Negotiate contracts, joint ventures, and partnership agreements to maximize business value.

Act as the main liaison between clients and internal technical teams to ensure alignment of deliverables.

Tendering & Proposals

Lead the preparation, submission, and follow-up of tenders, bids, and proposals.

Coordinate with technical and commercial teams to ensure competitive and compliant submissions.

Participate in contract discussions and due diligence processes.

Financial & Commercial

Prepare and review feasibility studies, project costing, and financial models.

Monitor project profitability, risk exposure, and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements.

Support senior management with forecasting, pipeline management, and budgeting.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience: Minimum 5–8 years in business development within the construction or engineering sector.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Singapore construction regulations, tender processes, and project financing.

Skills:

Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

Proven ability to secure large-scale projects and build client networks.
