Position Overview:

We are seeking a technically proficient senior engineering professional to lead the development and coordination of fire protection and utility systems on complex industrial projects. This position will play a pivotal role in ensuring that engineering outputs meet both client expectations and regulatory benchmarks, while supporting the project through design, execution, and final commissioning stages.

Primary Duties:

  • Serve as a key engineering contact throughout project tendering and delivery, overseeing technical submissions, schedules, and resource estimates for assigned scopes.

  • Create and validate engineering documents such as utility piping layouts, pressure drop calculations, flow schemes, and system integration packages.

  • Review detailed engineering documentation including technical datasheets, vendor deliverables, drawings, and specifications to maintain alignment with design intent.

  • Interface actively with clients, internal design teams, project management, and external vendors to address and resolve technical issues.

  • Take part in multi-disciplinary design coordination and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with both fire protection standards and site-specific safety requirements.

  • Provide field-level technical guidance during installation, pre-commissioning, and system start-up phases.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering or related discipline.

  • 5 to 10 years of engineering experience in large-scale EPC or EPCm projects, preferably involving industrial or energy facilities.

  • Practical knowledge of water-based fire protection systems, hydraulic modelling tools (e.g., Pipenet), and drainage system sizing is highly advantageous.

  • Familiar with technical safety studies such as HAZOP/HAZID and fire safety code requirements (local/international).

  • Able to interpret complex design inputs, technical specifications, and contractual requirements with high accuracy.

  • Experience coordinating engineering deliverables in high-paced project environments and managing vendor engagement.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Prior involvement in engineering firewater or utility systems for petrochemical plants, refineries, or chemical facilities.

  • Experience with layout optimization, capacity checks, and construction support on brownfield and greenfield projects.

  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while supporting larger project teams.

  • Demonstrates leadership in multidisciplinary coordination and proactive issue resolution.
