Job Description
Key Responsibilities:

Tendering & Procurement:
-
Prepare, review, and analyze tender documents and contracts.

Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers during the tender process.

Evaluate and negotiate bids to ensure compliance and value for money.

Payment Process Management:
-
Oversee preparation, validation, and submission of interim and final payment applications.
-
Verify contractors’ claims and payment certificates.
-
Manage the variation orders and adjustments as per contract requirements.

Scope Tracking & Change Management:
-
Monitor project deliverables and track scope changes.
-
Ensure all changes are properly documented and costed.
-
Work closely with project managers to control costs and avoid scope creep (which means uncontrolled changes or continuous growth in a project's scope).

Reporting & Documentation:
-
Maintain up-to-date records of all QS activities.
-
Provide regular cost reports and updates to stakeholders.
-
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and contractual obligations.

Stakeholder Coordination:
-
Collaborate with project teams, consultants, and clients for project success.
-
Attend meetings and present on cost and scope status as needed.

Key Skills & Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

At least 7-10 years of relevant QS experience, preferably in the construction or infrastructure sectors.

Strong knowledge of tendering and procurement processes.
-
Experience managing payment cycles, claims, and scope variations.
-
Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
-
Proficiency in QS software (such as CostX, Candy, or similar tools).
-
Familiarity with FIDIC, NEC, or other standard forms of contract (these are standard contract templates widely used in the construction industry).
