Role Summary
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading medium to large-scale construction/infrastructure/marine projects. You will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality, safety, and environmental standards. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, engage with stakeholders, manage risks, and drive project execution from planning through to handover.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution

Develop and maintain the project execution plan (scope, schedule, cost, resources).

Monitor and control project progress using appropriate project management tools and techniques (e.g. CPM schedule, earned value, change control).

Ensure alignment and integration across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

Manage interfaces between disciplines, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and stakeholders.

Lead in resolving technical, contractual, and operational issues to keep project on track.
Financial & Commercial Management
-
Manage project budgets and financial forecasts; monitor cost performance and margins.

Oversee change management, variation orders, claims, and contract administration.
-
Participate in major procurement decisions, vendor / subcontractor selection and negotiation.

Monitor cash flow, billing, and revenue recognition to ensure financial health of the project.
Quality, Safety & Environment

Ensure compliance with quality control / assurance procedures, inspection protocols, and testing regimes.
-
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture—ensure safety plans, audits, and hazard mitigation are in place.

Monitor environmental compliance and ensure mitigation of environmental impacts.
Stakeholder & Client Relations
-
Act as key point of contact with clients, consultants, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders.

Report project status, risks, and key metrics to senior management and client executives.

Negotiate critical decisions, change approvals, and manage client expectations.
Leadership & Team Management
-
Lead and mentor project team members: project engineers, discipline leads, construction managers, and support staff.

Drive accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
-
Facilitate coordination, communication, and problem-solving across all parties involved.
Risk & Governance
-
Identify, assess, and actively manage project-level risks (technical, schedule, commercial, safety).

Develop mitigation and contingency plans, and monitor their implementation.
-
Participate in governance forums, steering committees, audits, and reviews.

Ensure adherence to corporate policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Required Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
-
At least 10–15 years of relevant experience in construction / infrastructure / marine projects, with track record of increasing responsibility.

At least 3–5 years’ experience managing projects as a lead (Senior Project Manager / similar).
-
Demonstrated ability managing multi-disciplinary projects (engineering, procurement, construction).
-
Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience in contracts, claims, and cost control.

Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, BIM, etc.).
-
Solid understanding of safety, quality, environmental management systems and standards.
-
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
-
Proactive problem solver with strong decision-making skills under pressure.
-
Willingness to travel and reside at project sites as required.
Preferred / Desirable
-
Experience in marine works, coastal structures, dredging, land reclamation.

Experience in the geographic region (e.g. Southeast Asia, Singapore) — familiarity with local regulatory, permitting and contractual environment.

International project exposure and ability to work in multi-cultural settings.

Professional certifications (e.g. PMP, Chartered Engineer).

Exposure to sustainable construction, green building practices, or carbon / emissions management.
