Job Description
1. Cost Planning & Estimating
-
Prepare cost plans, budget estimates, and cash-flow forecasts for structural, architectural, and complex MEP systems.

Evaluate design changes and assess their cost impact.

Support value engineering exercises (i.e., finding cost-efficient alternatives without reducing performance).

2. Procurement & Tendering
-
Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ)—a detailed document listing materials, labour, and quantities for pricing.

Issue tender documents to subcontractors and suppliers.

Conduct tender evaluations and cost comparisons.

Negotiate with subcontractors to achieve competitive pricing and favourable terms.
3. Contract Administration
-
Manage main contract and subcontract agreements.

Prepare and evaluate variations—changes to scope, design, or materials that affect cost.

Track and certify progress claims from subcontractors.

Prepare monthly interim payment applications to the client.

4. Cost Control & Reporting

Maintain detailed cost tracking against approved budgets.

Prepare monthly cost reports, including forecast-at-completion and cost-to-date.

Identify and report potential financial risks—e.g., material price escalation, rework costs, or schedule delays.
5. Site Coordination
-
Work closely with engineers, planners, and site managers to ensure accurate progress measurement.

Conduct site inspections to verify completed work quantities.

Resolve commercial issues related to the site, such as missing scope, discrepancies, or technical clarifications.
6. Compliance & Documentation
-
Ensure QS activities comply with aviation authority standards and airport-specific regulations.

Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation for audits.

Assist with final account preparation and project closeout.
Qualifications & Requirements
Must Have
-
Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
-
3–8 years of QS experience (depending on level) in major building or infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of:

FIDIC or similar contract forms
-
MEP cost components
-
Structural works for high-rise or specialized buildings
